Thompson House is run by an elected body of people, who voluntarily donate their time to the operations and finance of the House.
Day- to-day running costs are generally funded by over 30 organisations and many occasional users who rent hire the rooms. The aim is to maintain this fine old homestead to a high standard while fully serving the community.
The Horowhenua District Council gives constant support to the organisation and appoints a representative to liaise with the committee. The Council has also generously been responsible for any exterior upkeep and the maintenance of the gardens, which are kept in tiptop order. The gardens are available for wedding photos, or a picnic in lovely surroundings on a summer’s day.
The Committee is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting held on the 4th Wednesday of the month in April.
